BABEL AND TRANSLATIO BIBLIOGRAPHY BABEL 2013 was the third year in which Babel was enlarged to a maximum of 500 pages per volume. This allows us to publish more articles, thereby reducing the period authors must wait for publication of their texts. From volume 60 this will increase further to 600 pages. Babel, as a peer-reviewed international journal, attracts many authors and frequently receives new articles. This enables us to choose the most appropriate texts for publication after their evaluation within nine months by, if possible, members of the editorial board, or of the FIT Council, or even by external experts. Their collaboration is greatly appreciated. The rule for Babel remains: only articles not published elsewhere will be used in our journal. I have again noticed that some, even many, authors send their texts to different journals at the same time. I have also found that several authors no longer inquire about the status of their articles submitted in 2011 or 2012. The contents of Babel consist of four sections: 1. Articles on topics from different domains of translation studies 2. For a few years now we have included a special section for articles on literary translation 3. The Life of FIT with lists of Council members and of committee chairpersons or lists of available publications 4. Bibliographical and Lexicographical Information, with extensive reviews by experts on the subject In Vol. 59/2013 we have published in – • issue 1 (124 pages) 5 articles in English (2 on literary translation) and 3 reviews (2 in English and 1 in Spanish) • issue 2 (pp. 125-255) 6 articles in English and 2 reviews in English • issue 3 (pp. 257-391) 6 articles (3 on literary translation; 1 in French and 1 in Spanish) and 1 review in Spanish and 1 in English • issue 4 (pp. 393-507) 5 articles in English (2 on literary translation) and 1 in Spanish and 1 review in English Owing to organisational, practical and even health problems Babel is behind in its publishing schedule. Benjamins, our publisher, and the editorial board will do their utmost to eliminate the arrears. TRANSLATIO Vol. 32 (2013) contains 265 pages, distributed over 3 issues, N° 1-2 (double) and N° 3 and 4 (single). It consists of five regular sections: A. Bibliographie internationale de la traduction (International translation bibliography), with excerpted items on articles published in journals of our member organisations. To enhance readability we also briefly present new publications with information from their publishers B. Communication, Information and History of FIT, called Pages d’histoire C. Articles. Some authors prefer to have their shorter articles published in TRANSLATIO because they can be published sooner. In Vol. 32 (2013) issue 3 we published 2 articles: 1° Dr. BINHUA WANG (Hongkong Polytechnic University): Describing the Progress of Interpreting Studies in China: A Bibliometrical Analysis of CSSCI/CORE Journal Articles during the Past Five Years (p. 115-126) 2° Dr. EMEKA C. IFESIEH (Delta State University. Nigeria): Structural and Conceptual Misrepresentation as Semantic Dislocation in a Literary Translatorial Action (p. 127-144). Vol. 32 (2013) issue 4 includes one article: M. ALIREZA GHANOONI (PhD student Yerevan State University): Antoine Berman: The System of Textual Deformation (14 pages). D. REVUE DES REVUES. A reflection of FIT activity in the magazines and journals of member associaitons and others, compiled by R. Haeseryn, among others: BABEL (Amsterdam) – BIULETYN TEPIS (Warsaw) – MDÜ (Berlin) – CHINESE TRANSLATORS JOURNAL (Beijing) – IDIOMA (Brussels) – REVISTA CANARIA DE ESTUDIOS INGLESES (Tenerife). E. New Publications. Information on books on Translation Studies, useful for researchers and professionals. Gives extensive information on recent or older published books using material from the publishers. The number of subscribers, the majority libraries and organizations, has once again increased slightly. Council members and honorary advisors receive Translatio free of charge. The creation of a SUPPORT AND PROMOTION FUND had a satisfying follow-up. I thank the contributors very much for their help. There is no need to change the composition and the objectives of the TRANSLATION BIBLIOGRAPHY COMMITTEE. ♠

BABEL ET TRANSLATIO BIBLIOGRAPHIE BABEL Le format de Babel étant passé à un maximum de 500 pages par volume en 2011, nous avons publié davantage d’articles pour une troisième année de suite en 2013, réduisant d’autant le délai de publication des textes soumis par les auteurs. Le nombre de pages passera à 600 à partir du volume 60. En qualité de journal international à comité de lecture, Babel attire de nombreux auteurs qui soumettent fréquemment des articles parmi lesquels nous avons l’embarras du choix. Nous publions les textes les plus pertinents au terme d’une évaluation de neuf mois confiée, dans la mesure du possible, aux membres du comité de rédaction, à des membres du Conseil de la FIT ou même à des spécialistes externes, dont nous apprécions beaucoup la collaboration. Babel a pour règle de publier uniquement des articles qui ne paraîtront pas ailleurs. Je remarque encore que certains auteurs, voire plusieurs, soumettent leurs textes à différentes revues simultanément. Je constate aussi qu’un certain nombre d’auteurs ne nous demandent plus où en est l’étude de leurs articles soumis en 2011 ou en 2012. Babel comprend quatre sections : 1. Articles sur des sujets relevant de différents domaines de la traductologie 2. Depuis quelques années, nous réservons une section spéciale aux articles sur la traduction littéraire 3. La vie de la FIT où l’on trouve la liste des membres du Conseil et des présidents des comités ou la liste des publications disponibles 4. Bibliographie et lexicographie, avec des recensions approfondies par des spécialistes Statistiques du vol. 59/2013 :

• Numéro 1 (p. 1-124) : 5 articles en anglais (2 sur la traduction littéraire) et 3 recensions (2 en an-

glais et 1 en espagnol)

Des problèmes d’ordre organisationnel et pratiques, et même des problèmes de santé, ont entraîné un retard dans la publication de Babel. Notre éditeur Benjamins et le comité de rédaction feront de leur mieux pour rattraper ce retard. TRANSLATIO BIBLIOGRAPHIE Le volume 32 (2013) comprend 265 pages, en trois numéros : le no 1-2 (double) et les nos 3 et 4 (simples). Cette publication comporte cinq sections régulières : A. Bibliographie internationale de la traduction, avec des extraits d’articles publiés dans les revues de nos organisations membres. Pour faciliter la lecture, nous présentons également brièvement les nouvelles publications avec des renseignements provenant de leurs éditeurs. B. Pages d’histoire, renfermant des communications, des informations et des notes historiques sur la FIT. C. Articles. Certains auteurs préfèrent que leurs articles plus courts soient publiés dans TRANSLATIO BIBLIOGRAPHIE parce qu’ils paraissent plus rapidement. E. Nouvelles publications. Information sur des livres de traductologie, utile pour les chercheurs et les professionnels. Renseignements détaillés sur des livres récents ou plus anciens, tirés de la documentation des éditeurs. Le nombre d’abonnés a encore légèrement augmenté. Il s’agit en majorité de bibliothèques et d’institutions. Les membres du Conseil et les conseillers honoraires reçoivent Translatio Bibliographie à titre gracieux. La création d’un FONDS DE SOUTIEN ET DE PROMOTION a eu des suites fructueuses. Je remercie sincèrement les donateurs pour leur aide.
